The Tale of Colțești
In the place where the sun rises twice, at the foothills of the Trascău Mountains, the first chapter of our story is being written.
Charmed by the idyllic setting of our childhood home, we laid the foundations of the Torockoi Factory in 1994, and three years later, we began producing Torockoi premium dairy products. In the early years, we took orders manually, over the phone, and to do this, we had to climb all the way to the Trascău Fortress, the only place in the entire area with phone signal. The cheeses and their distribution were also handled by the family. Once the orders were ready, we delivered the goods directly to the doors of traditional shops in the counties of Alba and Cluj. We still think back on those times with fondness, and we have kept some of those habits to this day.
Torockoi, a tradition passed down from generation to generation
For us, Torockoi is not just a simple business; it is a part of who we are, into which we invest our very best every single day. It began as a family business, the reins of which were then carefully and responsibly passed down from parents to children. A respect for nature, resources, and the way they are utilized in our factory has, over time, shaped a sustainable business, whose impact on the surrounding environment we strive to keep as minimal as possible. It has been and continues to be in good hands, which is why we firmly believe that the Torockoi name will successfully endure for many, many years to come in the premium Romanian dairy market.

The aromas of wildflowers, medicinal herbs, and fresh grass from 100% Romanian cow's milk are found in every product that leaves the gates of the Torockoi Factory. Whether fresh or aged, our dairy products have been appreciated for over two decades for their richness of aroma, intensity of flavor, and unmistakable texture.
